POLK COUNTY, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Polk County Sheriff’s Office authorities said Wednesday that the Special Victims Unit detectives filed 20 additional counts against Polk County inmate Jennifer Fichter of Unlawful Sexual Activity With Minor for a sexual relationship PCSO says Fichter had with one of her students in 2011 when the student was 17 years old.

Sheriff’s office authorities said the new information came to light during the ongoing investigation by PCSO and Lakeland Police detectives. Polk deputies said the victim in this case is a new victim who was identified after Fichter’s arrest.

Fichter remains in the Polk County Jail, officials said.

She will have a first appearance hearing at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24th, on these new charges, PCSO said.
