PORT RICHEY, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A 14-year-old Port Richey girl has been charged with 1 count of arson and 2 counts of attempted murder after deputies say she set her home on fire.

Deputies say the fire happened around 1:45 a.m. on the 9000 block of Hermitage Lane where a mother and her 9-year-old son were able to get out thanks to a smoke alarm. Deputies say they explained to firefighters that a 14 year-old girl was unaccounted for. Deputies say they didn’t find her there at the house but later found her on the 7400 block of Little Road.

Deputies say the teen was questioned and admitted to setting the fire on purpose after an argument with her family the night before.

Deputies also say one thing discovered in the investigation is the girl has visited sites related to the slender man and admitted to using the websites creepypasta.com and souleater.com, which are associated with the slender man.

At this time, deputies say they have no evidence to believe she did this because of the violence on these websites. Officials also say there is concern when kids visit these sites because of the extreme violence associated with them.
