UPDATE: This advisory has been lifted.

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Hillsborough County health officials say an advisory has been issued for the following beaches based on the criteria for enterococci bacteria recommended by the EPA: Picnic Island Beach and Ben T. Davis Beach. Officials say this should be considered a potential risk to the bathing public.

The health department says samples taken Monday were above threshold for enterococci bacteria. The beach will be re-sampled, Monday, June 30th.

When re-sampling indicates that the water is within the satisfactory range, the advisory will be lifted.
