Pinellas Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA)--A 28 year old Pinellas County teacher is the first to be arrested by Tampa's new Child Predator Cybercrime Unit.
Aaron Stewart was set to teach at Clearwater Intermediate Middle School this fall, and has worked at various schools in the Pinellas County School district.
He was arrested by undercover deputies who found known images of child pornography had been downloaded. They traced the files right back to Stewart's computer.
Cybercrimes unit chief Chuck McMullen said the porn on Stewart's computer was especially nasty--showning adults having sex with children. He says the adults in the video have long since been prosecuted.
Stewart has been charged with one count of promoting the sexual perfomance of a child, and eight counts of possession of child pornography. He faces 55 years in prison if he's convicted of all the charges.
The Tampa Child Predator Cybercirmes Unit was put into place on July 2, 2008. There are several other cybercrime units across the state of Florida, all put into place to stop the ever increasing internet sexual exploitation of children.
