TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call on reports that the suspect, 26-year-old Walter Dunn, III, attempted to set his estranged wife on fire.
According to a sheriff's report, Dunn confronted his wife, 27-year-old Alison Aquino-Sanchez, at the home of her boyfriend, 34-year-old Marco Ramirez. Dunn punched and kicked his way into the home and the glass from the broken door cut Ramirez who was standing near the door.
Dunn then grabbed his wife by the hair, punched her, and dragging her to a black 2003 Ford Explorer against her will. He then fled to his home on Oak Vista Circle in Tampa and forced her into the garage where he doused her in gasoline. Dunn attempted to ignite the gas, but failed, in an attempt to kill his wife. Deputies also say that Dunn attempted to cut Aquino-Sanchez's fingers with garden sheers.
Deputies arrived at the suspect's address and when the garage door opened, Dunn was ordered to the ground while the victim Alison ran from the residence.
Alison Aquino-Sanchez was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
