New Port Richey, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Pasco Sheriff's Detectives arrested 49 year old John Dawson after a video shows him pretending to be a police officer and shouting at a motorist who is sitting inside of his vehicle at the time.
Dawson exits his vehicle and approaches the victim while wearing what appears to be a badge. Dawson has been charged with impersonating a LEO.
No one was injured during this incident. The cell phone video was taken by another occupant in the victim's car.
Sheriff Nocco said,"I urge everyone, if they feel uncomfortable with a situation similar to this, to proceed safely to a well lit area and call 911. I cannot stress this safety message enough and I am thankful this case was resolved with an arrest."
