Truck vs. Pedestrian Crash Kills Man in Bradenton

Bradenton, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A 78-year-old man died  trying to cross a busy road when a pickup truck struck and killed him, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The man, whom troopers had not identified because they had not yet notified his relatives, walked east crossing US-41 near State Road 70 at 9 p.m. when he walked in front of the 1998 GMC Sonoma driven by Tod Eugene Good, 46, of Bradenton, according to a news release from the FHP.

Paramedics took the man to Blake Medical Center where he died from his injuries, the release said. Troopers do not suspect alcohol involvement in either Good or the pedestrian.
