FHP: Man Dies in Crash He Caused in Bayonet Point

Bayonet Point, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A head-on crash Friday night killed the man blamed for causing it, the Florida Highway Patrol said. the 60-year-old man, whose name the FHP had not released as of Saturday morning, drove east on State Road 52 near Zimmerman Road when troopers say his Toyota RAV4 crossed the median and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the westbound lanes. It happened at 5:53 p.m., according to a news release from the FHP. He died later from his injuries. The two people in the truck, Dominic and Denise Valentino, 64 and 63, both suffered serious injuries.
