Driver sought in hit-and-run crash that left man in critical condition

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) - The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a 19-year-old man in critical condition.

The incident occurred in the area of US-41 and 14th Street West at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

Troopers said a Kia Sedona was stopped at an intersection, then turned left to go into a Race Trac gas station, 7259 14th Street West and hit an Audi A3 that was headed northbound.

The Audi overturned and traveled across the parking lot of the Lanter Inn & Suites. Then it hit a concrete wall, and another car, which was pushed into another vehicle.

The driver of the Kia left the scene.

Troopers said the 19-year-old driver of the Audi, Jackson Maxwell Kelley of Bradenton was rushed to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.

Now troopers are looking for the driver of a 2003 Kia Sedona, which likely has front end damage.
