Deputies Search For Suspect in Deadly Tampa Apartment Complex Shooting

Tampa, Fla. - News Radio WFLA - Hillsborough County Sheriff's detectives have identified a possible suspect are in a deadly shooting at a Tampa apartment complex near USF.

Deputies are now searching for 30-year-old James Kendrick (recent photo posted, courtesy of HCSO) and a 2015 Burgundy Nissan Altima with Florida tag number JJQ-K38 that may be connected to the shooting.

Kendrick and the victim, who are reportedly neighbors, got into an argument, during which the victim was shot, according to witnesses.

Deputies were called out to the complex on 19th Street North, north of Fletcher Avenue, at 6:30 Sunday night after reports of shots being fired. Once there, they were told one man who had been shot was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

If you see James, detectives are warning people not to approach him and call 911 immediately.
