St. Pete Police Get Their Man

Saint Petersburg Police

St. Petersburg, Fla.-(Newsradio WFLA)-Police have made an arrest in the March 27th murder of Quentin Hicks and the attempted murder of another man. Officers say it was apparently road rage that caused 31 year-old William John Shutt to open fire.

Police believe Shutt shot Hicks and his passenger in a BMW convertible near 17th Avenue and Bay Street. The BMW then crashed into a tree a few blocks away. Hicks died of his wounds. The passenger is recovering, but has not been identified.

Police say they identified Shutt as a suspect and then arrested him as he broke into his girlfriend's home. Shutt is charged with 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Attempted Murder and Residential Burglary.
