Three-Car Crash Kills Two in Thonotosassa

Thonotosassa, Fla (Newsradio WFLA) - A three-car crash early Sunday killed the drivers of two of the vehicles involved, the Florida Highway Patrol said. A Ford van going south on US-301 went into the northbound lanes near Stacy Rd., sideswiped a Chevy Cavalier, then collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck at about 12:50 a.m., according to a crash report from the FHP.

The van ran off the road and caught fire. Its driver, a 21-year-old man whom the crash report did not identify by name, and that of the Chevy, a 26-year-old man from Zephyrhills, also not identified by name, died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, Cory Morse, 26, of Plant City, suffered only minor injuries.
