City Employee Accused of Burglary and DUI with Work Truck

BROOKSVILLE -- An employee of a Pasco County city is accused of making off with stolen goods in a city work truck... while drunk.

The Hernando Sheriff's Office says 42-year-old Israel Huron crashed his truck into a tree on Emerson Road in Brooksville late Sunday night. They found a couple of grills inside as well as two packs of cigarettes that a Spring Hill man says were taken from his yard and his car.

The victim claims Huron knocked on the door of his Elgin Boulevard home and told him, "I'm here for you"

before driving off in a truck belonging to the City of San Antonio in Pasco County... the same one that ran into the tree on Emerson Road in Brooksville.

Deputies say Huron told them he was responding to an emergency call from work.. and had been drinking.

He's accused of petit theft, car burglary and DUI. The city says he's been suspended without pay pending an investigation.
