It's hard to make anything from training camp. After all, the Buccaneers are just practicing. But what you can tell is who is separating themselves from others while some battles are still ongoing.
The guard position is still set as a rotation. We've seen Jamon Meredith, Patrick Omameh, Oniel Cousins and rookie Kadeem Edwards all have had their reps at the spot respectively. That position is far from being set.
At wide receiver, rookie Robert Herron has made some insane receptions while at the same time dropping ones he should make. Former Gator Louis Murphy has been impressive and should be a lock for the roster if he continues that trend.
Left defensive end will probably feature Adrian Clayborn at the top of the depth chart but with an asterisk. He will most likely be a part of a rotation that will have William Gholston, who has been breathing down his neck for the starter's role and has impressed the coaches.
The cornerbacks up and down the roster are all getting extra reps for the nickel spot as well as for the rest of the depth chart due to injuries to Mike Jenkins and Alterraun Verner. Rashaan Melvin just returned from his injury so that will be another name to add to the likes of Leonard Johnson and Danny Gorrer.
Josh McCown is the team's starting quarterback. However, Mike Glennon has made incredible strides this training camp compared to his first last season. The second-year quarterback has improved his throwing motion which is resulting in better accuracy and hitting his receivers in stride. If at any point McCown falters during the season, the staff will feel comfortable enough to hand the signal calling duties over to Glennon.
The team's first live game action is this coming Friday against the Jaguars in Jacksonville. It'll been then when the player's performance will truly be graded.
