According to a report Tampa Bay Times Rays beat reporter Marc Topkin, Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Matt Moore has elected to have season ending Tommy John surgery on his injured elbow.  Moore telling Topkin of his decision to have Tommy John ligament replacement surgery, saying the discomfort he felt during an afternoon throwing session made it clear he could not pitch with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament.

"What was coming out, it's a shame to be have to be shut down right now but it just wasn't comfortable," Moore said to the Tampa Bay Times.  "Being stuck in the position I am right now, where it's not exactly comfortable but it's not exactly completely broke, it's kind of one of those things where you know it's going to get worse."

Noted specialist of the surgery Dr. James Andrews will perform the surgery on Moore on April 22.
