Syria Lashes Out Inside and Outside its Borders: Syria has begun a diplomatic offensive against its Sunni neighbors, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. None of them will support an Asad victory that vanquishes the Sunni majority inside Syria. The great "missing story" behind story in Syria... it's a Sunni vs. Shi'a (in this case Alawite) thing.
U.S. Media in a Tizzy Over Possible Israeli Strike on Iran: Watching Face the Nation this morning, I was amazed to watch the CBS reporter grill Mitt Romney on whether or not he would support a unilateral strike on Iran's nuclear weapons program. Getting a bit tired of the anti-Israeli crowd acting like the worst thing in the history of the world would be Israel eliminating an existential threat. There is an anti-Zionist movement that runs deep and wide in media and government circles. Will explain.
Romney's London Kerfuffle: Romney is known to be gaff prone, but no more than Obama. I think the presumptive Republican Presidential nominee said something because he feels that every time someone sticks a microphone in front of his face, he feels the need to come across as a "fixer." I've lived in London. Trust me. The Brits have got this one. Still, bad things can happen. British citizens do not have the same personal liberties with regard to police actions as do we and British security forces will exercise all they must to keep the games safe.
Romney Speaks in Israel: Reaffirms support for Israel in face of iranian threat and states Egypt's responsibility to ensure the safety of its minorities and to make no threats against Israel.
And more...
