The first offering on my blog comes from our other listener, William Arcand… I found it moving… and inspiring…

This video is taken from a British series where a guy called Gareth Malone takes a group of people and turns them into a choir. This time he's taken a group of military wives whose husbands are all away in Afghanistan and turned them into a choir. Gareth looks about 16yrs old but is actually in his mid-30s and a Choir master for the London Symphony Orchestra, among other things. They wrote a song based on excerpts from letters written by the couples whilst apart and this is the beautiful result. 

The single is out in the UK and thousands have been pre-ordered and all the money raised is going to military charities.

My second offering is in regard to our national debt… – In the wake of yet another State of the Union Address, Bankrupting America releases a new web video that shows 3 decades of State of the Union presidential promises of fiscal discipline. Sadly, the promises we heard in the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s are very similar to the same we hear today.

And the third is homegrown… it is called Home in Tampa Bay and is written and produced by the Freeman family, and sung by Tom Freeman… good photos too…

I was sent this video which is a fair to middlin’ parody of the song, The Candy Man…

It seems almost ironic in light of this parody that the Obama administration is emphasizing the slogan, “Yes We Can”, and then you extrapolate, and he’s the Candy Man… ‘cause the Candy Man CAN!!!

Here’s a pretty funny dramatization of the debt problem facing the US, which is salient, given that they are about to raise the debt “limit” again… and I use the term limit with some trepidation, since they have violated the definition of the word itself again and again… perhaps that’s why some now call it the debt “ceiling”… because people can lift “ceilings” … but we as Americans should be “raising the roof” and “raising hell” over this kind of reckless fiscal behavior…

And here are some common sense solutions that were put together by a well known fellow at one time, TV Game Show host, Chuck Woolery… and while he’s famous for playing games, he seems to be serious about the threat to America’s future levied by our burdensome debt… and he seems to have some common sense solutions… that will surely be ignored by a bunch who possess no common sense…

The problem is that the people who have to deal with the problem, are the problem… their sole mission in life is to maintain their jobs, or get elected, and that runs contrary to finding difficult solutions…
