Entertainment for the weekend runs the gamut this time.
For concerts, you have anything from Brooks & Dunn, to Don Juceam's big band Sinatra music to Snoop Dogg or the Mayhem Festival at the Ford Amphitheatre.
The quirky Beach Theatre on St. Pete Beach has a twist on its usual Rocky Horror film feature by throwing in a punk rock band, an extra horror flick and Bikini Night all rolled into one.
On Saturday, News Channel 8 helps out the Humane Society of Tampa Bay with its annual Pet Telethon, plus the SPCA Tampa Bay in Largo asks that you visit for its Christmas in July pet adoption specials.
Ruskin has a great thrift store sale (think huge bargains!) and who knows what treasures you'll find for pennies on your hard-earned dollar?
My guess is that lots of locals will show up for the old Spyglass Hotel's swan song next week on Clearwater Beach, especially now that it's implosion has turned into a venue for illusionist Criss Angel's Mindfreak show. Can he get out of shackles on the 7th floor before the place falls down around him?

Former Tampa Tribune photographer, John W. Parker, Jr., was kind enough to come to University Community Hospital's 40th Birthday party for which Sharon and The Boys played Saturday night at the USF Sun Dome.
If you'd like to take a look at some of his shots of my band,
please click here.
John also got some wonderful photos of the Johnny G Lyon Band performing and all the guests having a great time at the party.

John's the same photographer who got the great shot of that little Chihuahua sneaking a lick of an ice cream bar (pic #72 in this gallery) at our
Fourth of July party at Vinoy Park.
